It just hit me today that we limit ourselves with money every day by the way we view what is expensive and what is not expensive, by what we can “afford” and what we “can’t,” by what we define is a “lot” of money, and what is “not a lot.”
For example, I had a client who wanted to wire money from one account to another and the fee was $20. They thought that was expensive.
I think we think these things without even analyzing them and this is a great example.
If you agree that $20 is a high fee to wire money I want you to examine that. Is it really expensive to send money from one part of the country to the other, safely and security, for only $20?
To me, that’s a terrific bargain.
What other beliefs do you have that are automatic in your brain that are getting in your way?
Do you hear your thoughts? Do you examine whether your thoughts are true or not? Is it really EXPENSIVE to get money from one place to another in a safe and secure way, usually in a matter of hours, for $20?
I think a lot of this is a matter of what we are used to, so in order to change our thoughts, we need to get used to different things.
I’ve been looking at homes to buy. Initially, a $500,000 home seemed like a lot to me. But then I saw one for $6.8 Million that I would LOVE to live in. It had everything from great bathrooms, to the perfect kitchen, to the built in pool, that I would love.
Is $6.8 Million a lot of money? Not to everyone, and not to someone who wants more wealth in their life.
If I truly want to live in an amazing home, then I have to stop limiting myself to looking only at $500,000 homes.
Take the action today to raise your own thinking around money. Take a monthly bank statement and add some zeroes to the end, then look at that every day. Imagine having 10 times, or 100 times the amount of money in your bank account that you do.
Get used to having more money by pretending that you do. Your unconscious mind (your imagination) doesn’t know the difference so train it to dream bigger, to having more, to being comfortable in the more expensive car or clothes or home.
Then, you’ll realize that $20 to send tens of thousands of dollars from one part of the country to another is a pittance.
That’s how you begin to attract more wealth into your life.
As many of the experts say, fake it until you make it. Train that brain of yours to have higher limits or comfort, because I think that’s what it really is all about.
Try it, you have nothing to lose, and much to gain!
